Kendra is an ambitious writer (of lesbian erotic fiction) who grudgingly takes an admin job for the local government because she needs steady income and health insurance. She meets Britta in the elevator, and what ensues is a story about the ups and downs of love, in particular for a mixed-race lesbian couple as they navigate meeting each other's parents.
